Kuwait has significantly eased visa restrictions for foreign visitors and tourists.
Key changes include:*
Family Visas: The salary requirement is abolished. Visas are extended to fourth-degree relatives and third-degree relatives by marriage (previously limited to spouses, children, and parents). Validity remains one month.
* Online Application: All visa types (tourist, family, business, governmental) are now available online via the Kuwaitvisa platform, with a processing time of five minutes for complete applications.
* Carrier Restrictions Removed: Visitors can now use any carrier (sea, land, air).* Tourist Visas: Four categories exist:*
Category 1: Nationals of 53 countries (mostly Western, including many European, several Asian, and the USA, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand) receive visas on arrival or online without conditions.*
Category 2: GCC residents, those with valid residency in the US, Canada, or Britain, or holding a Schengen visa. While a ministerial decision removed the profession requirement, applicants should upload passport copy, photo, air ticket, and hotel reservation. Single or multiple-entry visas are available.*
Category 3: Under consideration; likely requires proof of financial capability.* Category 4: For those attending specific sports and entertainment events.* Business Visas: Local companies can apply to bring foreign business partners or visitors.*
Visa Fees: Vary depending on nationality.
